THE GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS

Though a school can do a lot for a child but it cannot do everything. The home is a place where the child gets first education and training of citizenship. It is a chief place where his/her character is formed and developed. School education indeed promotes the growth of personality and helps to discover and develops the qualities that are in the child. In order to secure all that is best in the education of a child, maximum co-operation between the parents and the school authorities is necessary.

The school desires to have your co-operation and close contact with the teachers of your child in order to develop an atmosphere that is conductive to better and more effective education. This diary is one of the link which bridges the home and the school. It is an effective medium for parent-teacher contact.


  • * Personal memo page should be carefully filled in by the parent at the beginning of the academic session. Change of Residence should be notified to the school office immediately.
  • * Parents are requested to look into the school diary daily and see that lessons and home work assigned for the next day are done. Remarks made by teacher /school authority should be seen and counter-signed regularly.
  • * Your child should be encouraged to cultivate habitual cleanliness in all work.
  • * Absence of your child from class for attending social functions is discouraged because it retards the child's progress and minimizes is his/her interest in regular school work.
  • * Children should do their homework by themselves. They should not be helped in it by parents or by tutors unless they really need it. It is important that the children develop a habit of studying and working on their own.
  • * Criticism of staff should be avoided in presence of the child because it undermines her respect for the staff and the school.
  • * Should you have a legitimate complaint, please meet the Principal.
  • * Giving presents to the staff or other demonstrations of gratitude or goodwill in their honour is not allowed.
  • * Parents are not allowed to see their children or meet the teachers during the school hours.
  • * Private tuitions are discouraged.
  • * Children who are ill should not be sent to the school to attend a class or take tests. Once a pupil has come to school, he/she will not be allowed to go home before time.
  • * As the medium of instruction is English, children should be helped to follow their class easily by a certain amount of regular conversation in the this language at home.
  • * Please see that your ward carries text/exercise books according to the Time Table for that day. No extra books are allowed.
  • * Kindly ensure that the child prepares for tests and examinations.
  • * Encourage your ward to take a balanced interest in studies, co-curricular activities and sports.
  • * Your ward should be instructed to be careful about her possessions. There should be a name tag on blazers and sweaters. Expensive articles should not be brought to school.
  • * If your ward is absent from school, he/she must make up for all the work that he/she has missed.
  • * Parents should not argue with the teachers/other students or the conductor/driver present in the conveyance. If there is any problem, a written complaint to the Principal or Administrative office should be given.
  • * Parents/Guardians of such students who do not avail school transport should report at the school's gate 10 minutes before the school gets over to collect their wards.
  • * Our school is a poly bag-free zone. All parents are requested not to send or bring any articles like tiffin, stationery, craft articles etc. to school in poly bags.
  • * No child is allowed to bring gift of any kind for distribution in school even for birthday.
  • * The ward of those parents, who avoid meeting the authorities, when advised to do so, may not be allowed to attend the classes.
  • * Parents are requested to send students in perfect uniform always.
  • * No parents are allowed in the class for celebrating Birthday parties.
  • * All students are expected to speak only in English at school and we request the parents to encourage the students to do so at home as well.
  • * No Parent is permitted to enter the classrooms. Parents are not allowed to meet teachers during school hours without prior appointment form the Principal.
